The Neighborhood:
Dating back to the 6th century and situated in the heart of Shakespeare country, the medieval town of Warwick lies on the banks of the River Avon and is graced with many beautiful parks and gardens, cafes, restaurants, antiques shops, museums, a racecourse and it plays host to many festivals throughout the year. Warwick Castle is a must for all visitors to the area; built by William the Conqueror in 1068, it is the most dramatic medieval castle in the country. The ever-popular towns of Leamington Spa, with its magnificent Georgian and Victorian buildings, and Stratford-upon-Avon, the home of William Shakespeare, are within easy driving distance or by train. There are many National Trust properties in the area including Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House, as well as numerous country parks offering spectacular views in all directions. With beautiful unspoilt Cotswold villages and many lovely walks close by, this is a superb location.
