THE SPACE
Originally a charming bed and breakfast, Blue Heron now offers private suites for intimate stays in one of Mandeville’s most walkable neighborhoods.
The Girod Suite has its own private entrance from the porch overlooking the gardens. Inside, the suite includes a king bed, private bath, dining area, refrigerator, microwave, coffee service, and essential oil diffuser. The porch seating area is furnished with a daybed, rocking chairs, and a table, giving guests a private place to settle in and enjoy the setting. A fire pit on the property is shared with guests staying in the other suite.

Blue Heron is set in beautiful, historic Old Mandeville, within walking distance of the area’s restaurants, bars, and some of the Northshore’s most loved recreational spots. Guests can head to the Mandeville Lakefront for time along Lake Pontchartrain, explore the Tammany Trace by bike or on foot, or spend a Saturday morning at the Mandeville Trailhead community market. Fontainebleau State Park is nearby for a broader sweep of lakefront scenery and trails, and Brooks’ Bike Shop is close at hand for rentals and rides through town. Beyond Mandeville, the surrounding Northshore offers even more to explore, including the Bogue Falaya River in Covington, the Global Wildlife Center, Jazz’n the Vines concerts at Wild Bush Farm + Vineyard, and Abita Brewery.

Smoking Policy
• No smoking inside the house or garage.
• Evidence of smoking indoors will result in a $1,000 fine.
General Rules
- Respect neighboring properties—no trespassing into yards or driveways.
- Keep outdoor noise at a reasonable level at all times.
- Quiet hours outdoors begin at 10:00 PM.
- Any amplified outdoor music must be pre‑approved by the host.
- Locations allowed to park: Driveway & parking pad + nearby additional street parking (located ½ block from property). Absolutely no driving or parking is permitted in the grassy areas of the property, as they will rut.
- Fireworks are prohibited anywhere on the property.
- Neighbors are aware that guests stay here—please treat them with courtesy and respect.
- Lock all doors and windows when leaving the home.
- The host is not responsible for accidents, injuries, illnesses, or loss of personal belongings during your stay.
- No off‑road vehicles are allowed on the property.
- Refund Policy:
- 100% refund (less 3% credit card fee) up to 30 days before arrival
- 50% refund (less 3% credit card fee) up to 14 days before arrival
- A pre-authorized damage deposit hold of $2,000 is required. It is released a few days following check out provided there is no damage during the guest stay.
- Do not attach anything to walls or ceilings with tape, tacks, or adhesives. Damage will result in charges.
- Please return any moved furniture to its original position. A $100 fee applies if items are not reset before checkout.
- Early arrival or late departure without approval will result in a $200 fee.
- All canceled reservations incur a 3% credit card processing fee.
- Minimum rental age is 25.
- $500 fee for neighbor complaints.
- $500 fee if security is dispatched.
- $1,000 fee if police are called, and guests may be required to vacate immediately without refund.
- $500 penalty + $60 per unregistered person for anyone on the property not included in the reservation.
- Guests must sign the rental agreement prior to check‑in. Instructions will not be released until the agreement is signed.
