Set on a small farm, it looks out over the countryside and benefits from Norfolk’s magnificent big skies both day and night. Situated 3 miles from the market town of Fakenham and 12.5 miles from Wells-next-the-Sea, the two-bedroom cottage sleeps four guests, making it ideal for a small family or two couples.
Step inside to discover the heart of this Norfolk holiday home is its open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Gather in here after your days out exploring to enjoy a piece of Norfolk shortcake, bought from a nearby farm shop or bakery, and a cup of tea. Also whip up hearty meals to sit down to at the table. Spend cosy evenings in together in front of the Smart TV or pull the doors open on summer days so everyone can wander in and out from the garden. When you are ready to turn in for the night, make your way up to the first floor, where your two king-size bedrooms are located. One of these has zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as twins instead if discussed in advance. There is also a family bathroom up here. Spill outside into the courtyard garden on fine days. Dine out here, unwind in the hot tub and chat together under the wide, open starry skies.
Head into Fakenham to dine out, browse in the shops or spend time at the famous racecourse. Enjoy a walk through the natural park at Pensthorpe, 5.5 miles away. Have a day out to Houghton Hall, 9.5 miles away, where you can visit the stately home, which was built for Britain’s first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole in the 1720s, and enjoy its gardens.
