An exquisite retreat set in beautiful countryside, this delightful hideaway is perfect for couples or a small family. Located between the peaceful villages of Sedgehill and Motcombe, 3 miles from Shaftesbury and 7 miles from Tisbury, this two-bedroom barn-conversion is adjacent to the owner’s home with privacy assured. Sleeping four guests, it offers an excellent position to explore the picturesque Cranborne Chase National Landscape and the idyllic Deverills, either on foot or by bike. Head into the historic town of Shaftesbury to stock up on local produce in the market, potter in the independent shops and boutiques, or dine out in a friendly pub. Visit the Abbey and Gold Hill while you are here or head out of town to the National Trust’s Stourhead, Longleat House and Safari Park, City of Bath, Hauser and Wirth Gallery and The Newt, all of which are within 25 miles of the property.

Before stepping into this lovely property, take a moment to appreciate its characterful façade as well as the verdant scenery that surrounds it. Head inside, leaving muddy walking boots beside the door, and you will be greeted by an inviting living space and kitchen, separated with a dual aspect wood burner set into a striking fireplace. Throughout the interiors boast high vaulted ceilings and beams, which really add to the sense of space. On sunny days, open the door to the terrace to let the fresh air flow through, then gather in the restful lounge space to sink into the soft seating in front of the Smart TV. Find all you need to prepare family meals in the chic, well-appointed kitchen, which can be enjoyed at the breakfast bar or around the dining table. When the night draws in choose between the elegant king-size bedroom or the stylish twin. Completing the interior is a well-appointed bathroom with a bath, separate shower and WC, ideal for a freshen up after days of adventure.

Outside, make full use of the open courtyard garden where a table and chairs await peaceful morning coffees. Guests will also benefit from off-road parking for two cars and use of an EV charging point (additional charges apply). Between May and September use of the owner’s outdoor heated pool is available between 12 noon and 2pm daily (weather dependent). Use of the tennis court is on request.
