Cottage in England

About this cottage rental
Built in 1874, this former chapel is light and airy inside, with elegant, country-style decor. Housed in the main part of the chapel, the stunning lounge is the centrepiece of the home, its high ceilings and large windows giving a wonderful sense of space. Oil-fired central heating and a wood burner keep it toasty during the chillier months. Make light work of mealtimes in the well-equipped kitchen, then gather around the dining table to feast, throwing the patio doors open in warm weather. Outside, a picnic table on the patio invites you to dine alfresco watching birds and other wildlife frolic in the garden and over the moors beyond. An open staircase leads from the lounge to the first floor where you’ll find two restful bedrooms, a king-size and a twin. A mezzanine bedroom open to the living room offers an additional place to lay your head, adorned with antiques showcasing the heritage of the property. Two bathrooms take care of all practicalities.
Pack up a picnic and head out on foot or by bike for a day of adventuring; there are plenty of trails surrounding the property. A trio of Yorkshire market towns, Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering, are with 15 miles offering a choice of shops, restaurants, tearooms and attractions. For a day at the seaside catch the heritage steam railway from Pickering to Whitby (23 miles).
