Just 16 miles away, Aberystwyth brims with seaside charm – think sandy beach picnics, ice cream in hand, and the gentle chug of the cliff railway whisking you up to panoramic views. Stroll the Victorian promenade at sunset or browse quirky bookshops and cafes set along colourful streets. At Devil’s Bridge Waterfalls (4 miles), feel the cool spray on your face as water thunders through the famous Rheidol Gorge, then warm up with mugs of tea and Welsh cakes in the village. The 72-square-mile Elan Valley Estate (11 miles) invites leisurely cycles or challenging hikes along the waterways, while the romantic Hafod Estate (1.5 miles) offers slower strolls through secret woodland paths and rushing waterfalls.
