About this cottage rental
This seaside retreat is in the bustling Yorkshire town of Whitby, close to its quirky shops, independent restaurants, and sandy beaches. The property sleeps eight guests and is perfect for large families and groups of friends seeking a relaxing break on the coast. There are some stunning clifftop walks branching away from the town, and the remote landscapes of the North York Moors are just 2 miles away. Nearby attractions include the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (both within 1 mile).
The accommodation is arranged across two floors and is decorated in a seafaring theme, including a striking Captain Cook mural in the dining area. To the front of the property is a bright kitchen, equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday. Adjoining the kitchen is a memorable dining room with a large table to host dinner parties and family celebrations. After dinner, relax on the leather sofas in the lounge to watch the Smart TV. The ground-floor bedroom also doubles up as a games room/TV room, providing an extra space to unwind. A stylish shower room completes this level. The remaining three bedrooms are upstairs, along with a family bathroom. Outside there is a small courtyard where you can sit with a glass of wine on a summer’s evening.
Whitby’s main beach is 0.5 miles away, and offers a long stretch of golden sand backed by colourful beach huts. Spend your days here, building sandcastles and paddling in the sea, or enjoy the seaside entertainment, such as crazy golf, trampolines, and bumper boats. If you fancy getting out on the water, head to the harbour, where boats regularly depart for tours of the coast and wildlife-watching trips. From Whitby, enjoy excursions to Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay, and Scarborough (all within 20 miles).
