For a day out, head to beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake, 9 miles away, where you can see ospreys or enjoy a gentle lakeside walk. The lively town of Keswick is 16.5 miles away, boasting shops, restaurants, and outdoor adventures around Derwentwater. Alternatively, venture 16 miles to the Solway Coast with its wide sandy beaches and peaceful nature reserves.
