About this cottage rental

This superbly renovated cottage, part of the original farmhouse at Dunstan Steads, a farm steading close to the dunes, lies within a few hundred metres of Embleton Bay and has commanding views across the dunes towards the sea. Mermaid Cottage is situated in a truly idyllic location, close to Embleton Bay with an impressive 2 mile sweep of fine sandy beach with the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle at its southernmost end. Beyond this is the tiny fishing village of Craster, renowned for its oak smoked kippers, produced in the village since the early 19th century. There are easy coastal walks in either direction, linking up with the coastal footpath between Beadnell and Alnmouth. Embleton village is 1 mile and has a good golf course.


Ground floor - Small, dining kitchen with electric cooker, microwave and fridge with icebox.


Bedroom 1 - Double bed and oak floor. Compact en-suite bathroom (limited headroom) with over bath shower and WC.


First floor - Lounge with Victorian fireplace, open fire, oak floor, TV with Freeview, DVD, radio and French door to false balcony with splendid sea views.


Sofa bed for 1 by arrangement (maximum 2 persons in cottage).


Electricity included. Oil central heating from owners home included. Fuel for open fire provided. Wi-Fi. Shaver point. Highchair on request. Small decked patio area with furniture. Off road parking. Shop/PO/pubs/ restaurant in Embleton 1 mile. Duvets with linen and towels. No pets.
