Stroll down to Lyme Regis Beach (150 metres), where little ones can paddle in the shallows, build sandcastles, or try crabbing along the harbour's edge. The town is famous for its fossils: budding explorers can join a guided fossil-hunting walk along Monmouth Beach (1 mile) or visit the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum (0.5 miles) to see incredible prehistoric finds up close. The South West Coast Path runs past the property and is a must for keen walkers, especially since the views are otherworldly. Amuse the children with some excellent days out, including Axe Valley Wildlife Park (6.5 miles), the Donkey Sanctuary (13 miles) and Seaton Tramway (8 miles), all of which are just over the border into Devon.
