Summary:
Ravenwood House combines the best of everything a lake house could be. For starters, it's lakefront! And while that feature alone is hard to compete with, the newly renovated home has an elevated yet fun design that gives vintage camp vibes. And if the overall aesthetic weren't enough, the amenities bring it all home... ensuring you come back again and again. Orchard Bay is a quiet cove, just a short walk to the Village! We can't wait for you to fall in love with Ravenwood House.
The Space:
From the moment you step out of your car, you'll immediately fall in love with the gorgeous home nestled among the trees and just wait until you see the inside! As you make your way towards the home past the garage, you'll pass an open area with a fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows and a grill waiting to be fired up. I just know you'll want to end every night outdoors by the cozy fire pit under the stars. Passing through the front door, you'll take in the unique campy design seen in every aspect of the interior, that makes this home so special and inviting. It'll be hard deciding which of the 6 bedrooms you'll want to claim as yours for the time being. From the living room to the kitchen to the bathrooms and more, so much effort went into creating this perfect getaway in the mountains.
On the main level, right by the front door is the dining room followed by the first of two living rooms. The couch alone could fit you and 7 of your closest friends. Just past the dining room and the living room is the kitchen. There is no shortage of seating both in the dining room and the kitchen, which is perfect for hosting your dream dinner party. This kitchen is fully equipped with newer appliances and stocked with dinnerware, pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc. You can even open the sliding door and move the festivities outside to enjoy the fresh air of the mountains at the 8 person dining table. The possibilities are really endless when it comes to entertaining.
On that main floor, is a primary bedroom (number three on the listing) with an en suite bathroom and a cozy queen sized bed. The fun patterns on the pillows and blankets really pull the whole room together to create an elevated vintage camp style. From that bedroom, you will also be next to the half bathroom. From the half bathroom, you can head down the stairs to the bottom level that has a second living room and entertainment area as well as two bedrooms. In the second living room area, you'll be able to play pool and enjoy iced cold beverages from the drink fridge in the bar area. It really is the ultimate hang out spot that I'm sure everyone will enjoy. From the living room, there are two bedrooms. Bedroom one really shows off its camp style side with the wall decor and cozy quarters. Next to this bedroom is the first bathroom and the only one on this level. On the other side of the bottom level is the second bedroom. This bedroom has a queen sized bed and a cozy reading corner, so you can catch up on all the reading you've wanted to do but just haven't found the time.
Moving to the top level, you'll be on the end of the hall with bedroom four and five as well as the third bathroom. Bedroom four is minimal and chic, with a queen sized bed. Your kids will spend the most time in bedroom five, with its cool, rope bed and kid's toys and books to enjoy. This bedroom also has a queen sized bed. Across the hall is another primary bedroom with its own en suite bathroom and window seat lounge area. This king sized bed is sure to bring you maximum comfort and relaxation.
Fill your days with visits to the lake literally within feet of the home. You can walk down to the lake trail from the patio and you'll end up at the lake. Once you stay at this lakefront home, you won't want to leave!
Guest Access:
**Lake Access: All our guests are welcome to use our lake passes for accessing the lake trails! We have recommendations on the best places to swim or relax on the sand.**
The whole home is opened for your enjoyment! Unfortunately, our guests do not have access to the garage.
The Neighborhood:
We're located right on Orchard Bay, where you can swim, skip rocks, or set out on the lake trail towards the Village (a short walk beyond that).
A 2 minute drive will take you to Cedar Glenn (with shops and a full grocery store). The deli there makes great sandwiches so lunch is always easy! A 5 minute drive will take you to the Lake Arrowhead Village with lots of shops, restaurants and another grocery store. You'll love eating any time of day at Jetties in the Village, with 180 lake views from anywhere you sit. Grab ice cream for you and duck food for our feathered friends, as you all watch boats go by.
Getting Around:
In the warm months, get out on the lake with our friends at Mackenzie Ski School. Enjoy walking around the Lake Arrowhead Village, where kids feed ducks or take a ride around the lake on the Arrowhead Queen. SkyPark at Santa's Village is always a hit year round with fun outdoor activities for all ages. Take a picnic to MacKay Park overlooking the lake, or enjoy the beauty of Dogwood trails. Half day visits to Lake Gregory or Green Valley Lake are also recommended.
In winter months, come up for snow sports! We're exactly half hour drive to Snow Valley Ski Resort, 20 minutes to the Snowdrift tubing park, and 10 minutes to a great sledding area.
Other Things to Note:
There are some steps between the driveway and front door. For guests with limited mobility, there is a bedroom and bathroom on the main level allowing maximum enjoyment, with minimal use of stairs.
For utilizing the lake trail, we provide a pass to our guests. Guests will need to pick up wristbands from the ALA office to ensure we abide by ALA rules (and avoid fines).
Cancellation Policy: Guests may cancel their reservation free of charge up to 30 days before the scheduled arrival date. Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance will receive a full refund of the total booking amount.
