About this house rental
Lake Travis, Texas Hill Country
Let's be upfront: this place wasn't built to impress anyone indoors. It was built by my grandpa, a recreational fisherman who wanted to wake up, walk down to the water, and not come back inside until dark. That's still exactly what this place is — and if that sounds like your kind of trip, keep reading.
The house sits right on Lake Travis with wide open lakefront property, a large deck loaded with Adirondack chairs, and an easy walk straight down to the water. The living room windows frame the lake like a painting, and the "Live. Love. Lake." sign on the wall is the most honest piece of décor we've ever hung. There's one TV in the living room for the rare rainy day, a window A/C unit (it works, we promise), and Wi-Fi so you can post your lake pics. That's the tech package. Point is ... ditch the tech and get in the sun!
Sleeping the crew is what this place does best. Upstairs you'll find two private bedrooms, each with a king bed. The large upstairs bunk room has three kings, a queen, and two twins — no frills, just clean beds, cold air conditioning (more window units), and solid ceiling fans. You'll leave as a close knit crew as most of you will be sleeping in one open space.
Two full bathrooms, one on each level, both recently renovated with tile, glass enclosures, and updated vanities (the nicest rooms in the house, honestly). The property runs on a septic system, so we ask guests to treat it kindly.
The kitchen is stocked and functional — full-size stainless fridge, electric range, microwave, coffee maker, the works. It'll handle breakfast burritos and cooler restocking but it's not built for dinner parties, and that's by design.
The dock is where the real magic happens. Walk down the gentle slope from the house to your private dock, complete with a spot to tie up your boat, a diving board, and a rooftop platform with a swing and plenty of room to lay out and soak up that Hill Country sun. No boat? No problem — there's a boat rental business just a 10-minute water taxi ride away.
This place is perfect for:
- Families ready to unplug and get the kids off screens and onto a diving board
- A girls' trip where the itinerary is "dock, lake, deck, repeat"
- Multi-family groups who just need beds and a base camp
- Anyone who thinks sunset Adirondack chairs beat a hotel bar
This place is NOT for:
- Large gatherings, parties, or events — we are a quiet residential camp, not a venue. Noise ordinances are enforced and we take our neighbors seriously.
- Guests who need a chef's kitchen, designer interiors, or luxury amenities
- Anyone whose group requires more entertainment than a lake
Come as you are. Leave sunburned, a little waterlogged, and already planning your return trip. That's what the Lake Camp is for.
