The space
We do a deep clean between every guest.
Nantahala Spiritual Retreat (NSR) has been created by Steve Dean and Bobbie Ammons (Kriya Yogis) to offer a unique meditational experience in the remote mountain wilderness of the Nantahala National Forest.
Our guests have included: hikers, couples wanting to spend quality time together, professional people who want to "unplug" and get away from it all, spiritual seekers and meditators.
NSR is located near the back of Old Happy Top Cove, on Apple Tree Creek, at 3,300 ft elevation. The climate is mild here.
There is a short hike to a mountaintop view on the property, as well as three creeks.
Guest access
This remote sanctuary in the mountains has easy road access all year long. Swain Lane is paved up to the property. The driveway is well-packed gravel for a short distance. The nearby two story barn, as well as the Hemlock House are not accessible to guests. The owners, Steve Dean and Bobbie Ammons may be in residence at the Hemlock House, but you will most likely never know they are there.
We recommend that guest bring their groceries and supplies with them, or restaurants and shopping are only a scenic 25 minute drive. Please read our Guidebook (see small link over the map below) for distances and descriptions of places to go and things to do in the area.
Other things to note
You may occasionally see the neighbors driving down the road. They are very nice people.
Please do not leave food or trash outside or in your car, as there are wild animals who may be attracted to it. Please do not feed the goldfish or frogs in the fish ponds
