Villa in Hvar

About this villa rental
Villa Theia is located in the very heart of Hvar’s historic old town. Built during the Baroque period in 1612, the villa has changed ownership several times throughout the centuries. Its first owners were the Stajlić (Stallio) family, prominent figures in the financial sector. Later, ownership passed to the Marchi family, one of the oldest Italian families on the island of Hvar.
Today, this exceptional property is protected by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
The villa, together with the Gothic house and inner courtyard, was fully renovated between 2007 and 2009.
The entire complex comprises 450 square meters of interior space, complemented by an additional 200 square meters of a private adjacent garden.
Baroque House
The main entrance, featuring stone stairs and an original water well, is located on the lower level of the ground floor.
The upper level of the ground floor includes a spacious and elegant living room (45 m²), two double bedrooms (27 m² and 20 m²), each with its own en-suite bathroom, a hallway, a guest toilet, and a kitchen–dining area (35 m²) with direct access to the inner courtyard. One bedroom features a double bed, while the other has twin beds that can be joined if desired.
Upstairs, there are three additional double bedrooms (50 m², 36 m², and 25 m²). The largest is the master bedroom, offering a double bed and a private bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower. The remaining two bedrooms each have en-suite bathrooms with showers; one features a double bed, while the other offers twin beds that can be joined.
From the beautiful Baroque stone-paved balcony extending from the living room, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the waterfront promenade, the seashore, boats in the harbor, Fortica Fortress, and the Pakleni Islands.
Inner Courtyard
The inner courtyard spans 200 square meters and is filled with Mediterranean plants and fragrant herbs. Despite the villa’s central location, complete privacy is ensured by high stone walls surrounding the courtyard.
The courtyard features an outdoor dining table with seating for 10 guests, as well as various garden furniture pieces, including sun loungers positioned next to the swimming pool.
Gothic House
The Gothic house is connected to the Baroque house via the lower level of the ground floor. On the upper level, there is a 25 m² swimming pool with a retractable sunroof that can either open to connect the pool area with the surrounding garden or close it off, depending on your preference.
The lower level of the Gothic house houses a 40 m² wellness area, which includes a sauna, Jacuzzi, massage room, relaxation area, shower, toilet, and a small fitness space.
Adjacent to the wellness area is a wine cellar offering an excellent selection of both local and international wines.
