Town: The seaside town of Redcar lies on the east coast, just north of Saltburn. It has long, golden sandy beaches stretching for miles towards Saltburn Bay. Take the cliff lift believed to be the oldest working funicular railway in the UK, making its first 120ft decent on June 28th 1884.
