The Space:
A piece of Sea Ranch history awaits at this inviting, three-bedroom home, an architectural gem with views overlooking the coastal meadow and the wide Pacific Ocean. As one of the first homes built by the renowned Sea Ranch architect Joseph Esherick, Eurella has the added distinction of being the house where Esherick stayed while he was building the famed Hedgerow Houses.
Beautifully set on one acre of land guarded by a cypress grove, Eurella is full of coastal light and comfort both inside and out. A wall of windows brings together the living and dining rooms, where you can place a log on the fire, curl up with a good book or a crossword on the plush sectional sofa, or gather around the table for a homemade meal or a board game with a view of the ocean and passing deer. The trail just off the deck leads directly to Black Point Beach and the oceanfront Bluff Trail, allowing you to spend your days whale- and seal-watching from the shore. Back at the house, you'll find respite from the ocean winds in the protected garden courtyard with a stately tree that shades the space and a private hot tub tucked away beneath a gazebo.
Swap out your bathing suits for a warm pair of socks from the washer/dryer, begin dinner preparations using the kitchen's stainless steel appliances, and bring a glass of wine out to the back deck or the garden patio to marvel at the golden hour light. As the fog begins to roll in, you can spend the evening in three bedrooms - one with a king-size bed and a snug window seat, and two (a queen room and a room with two twin beds) with access to the outdoors. Golfers can also tee off at the Sea Ranch Golf Links, a oceanfront course only six miles north.
