Balcony with outdoor furniture. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. The bedrooms, which are on the ground floor, are traditionally furnished with iron bedsteads and Egyptian cotton bed linen. An open staircase leads from the hall to the totally open plan, spacious living area upstairs. Here you will find a stylish well equipped kitchen area, modern dining area, and a living area with French windows leading out onto a pleasant balcony with views towards the churchyard and the nearby fells, making this just the place to relax with glass in hand or to grab a pencil and get creative.
Enjoy a scenic ride through the beautiful South Tyne valley from Alston station on the South Tynedale railway, with vintage steam or diesel locomotives. Fishing, horse riding and golf are available nearby. Follow some of the local rambles or the Pennine Way. The glorious coast and countryside of Northumbria is within travelling distance, as are the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Borders. There are water sports at Talkin and Kielder Water. Gateshead is only an hour away, with a large shopping centre, restaurants and a ten screen cinema. Alternatively, just stay home and relax with Alston’s quaint cobbled main street, a range of individual shops, character inns, restaurants and tea rooms. Within the area is an historical Roman fort and tourists will enjoy the museums, exhibitions and sites along Hadrian’s Wall. Pub and restaurant 176 yards.
