Perched on a ridge overlooking beautiful Southwood Lake, this cozy A-frame cabin sits on a ±30-acre stocked private lake known for its history of trophy bass. Whether you're here to fish, hike, watch wildlife, or simply unwind in total peace — this is the place to do it.
Just 15–20 minutes from historic downtown Natchez, you get the best of both worlds: privacy in nature with easy access to town.

White perch

Our guests are allowed to fish from the bank during their stay — but lake rules must be followed.
Lake Rules:
CATCH & RELEASE ALL BASS (strictly enforced)
Catfish, perch, and bream may be kept
No fishing license required (private lake)
Watch children closely — the lake is large and very deep
If you catch a trophy bass:
Measure it. Weigh it. Have a replica made. Then release it so it can continue to grow.
Fishing access is a privilege we protect carefully so future guests can enjoy it too.
Getting Here
4-wheel drive is not required but recommended
The driveway is steep — 4WD makes departure easier
Most cars, trucks, and SUVs with standard ground clearance are fine

This is an awesome rustic retreat tucked off of the beaten path. The cabin is private with no neighbors close by. Its on a shared lake that is well maintained and full of visible brush piles. The fishing was amazing. The cabin was well stocked and clean. The host was great and helped me out of a sticky situation. Totally my fault... Will definitely stay there again.

If you are looking for a peaceful and secluded stay near the water with plenty of wildlife this is the place to go not to mention excellent fishing . We have already booked a return stay in the spring

Since we didn’t actually “stay” I can’t give an accurate review, but you can’t change Mother Nature! Due to a storm the morning of our arrival, there was no power until the following day. Chris was ver responsive and helped as much as he could. Unfortunately, by the time power was restored we were already almost back home.
