The Space:
Faodail House consists of an open-plan living space with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, dining seating, and a sitting area with woodburning stove, Smart TV, DVD player, and a selection of DVDs. There is also a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The bedrooms consist of a king-size with en-suite bath, basin, and WC, a ground-floor king-size, a ground-floor double, and a family room with three single beds. There is a ground-floor shower room with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, along with a cloakroom with basin and WC. Electric central heating is provided throughout. WiFi, fuel, power, and a starter pack for the woodburning stove are included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels. A highchair, stairgate, and two travel cots are available on request. Outside, there is an enclosed garden with furniture and a wood-fired hot tub, as well as off-road parking for four cars. Three well-behaved pets are welcome. Sorry, no smoking. The Neighborhood:
The village of Uig (pronounced "Oo-ig"), at the northern tip of Skye, rests on the shores of Loch Snizort, Skye’s largest sea loch off the Atlantic. The village boasts two pubs, two shops, a hotel, a filling station and cafe, as well as two other businesses well-worth a visit. Uig Pottery sells a range of high quality pottery produced on-site, while the Skye Brewery sells its own superb real ales from the brewery shop. Sheltered by high cliffs, the bay is one of the most beautiful in Skye, and is home to the ferry terminal for the Outer Hebrides. Wildlife in the area includes golden eagles, sea eagles, pilot whales, seals and dolphins. The attractions of the Isle, including the main town of Portree, are all within easy reach of this tranquil base.
