The McD Arms Hotel is compact/cosy but with well-appointed rooms - suitable for either a short stay or as a base for longer visits to Mull. Super location right on the waterfront and the staff were lovely. We included breakfast in our booking and the a la carte selection was generous and the food itself was beautifully cooked. Recommended.

Location is excellent, right on the water and close to the bus stop. The refurbishment is beautiful, I loved the gothic wallpaper and the bed was really comfortable. The staff are lovely and friendly.
The waiting time at breakfast was far too long. There was only one table ahead of me but it still took up to half an hour to get my scrambled eggs and salmon. When I arrived, no-one was at reception and there wasn't a bell, so I had to search for someone. The bar staff also locked up while I was still in it at night!
I think that the staff need to be managed better, they are fabulous and I don't believe that any of this was down to them.
