Luxurious Penthouse with TV & 2 Bedrooms

De locatie, pal in het centrum van Antwerpen. Wel een levendige uitgangsbuurt, maar in het appartement valt het geluid van de omliggende café's en disco's heel goed mee.

De trap om het appartement te bereiken is helemaal in het zwart en het licht blijft niet lang genoeg aan om het bovenste verdiep te bereiken. De algemene toestand van het appartement zou ik niet benoemen als luxueus maar gewoon basic. Om het luxueus te catalogeren zijn er meerdere ingrepen nodig. Nieuwe vloer en over het algemeen heeft alles een opfrissing nodig.

In centrum

Steile trappen, niet echt schoon, tandpasta zat nog in de wasbak. Vreemde communicatie dan weer per mail dan weer met whatapp, terwijl.alle communicatie via WhatsApp zou lopen, op de dag van aankomst nog gevraagd....waar blijven de instructies, zoals code locker.

Fantastic location with great view of the cathedral and a part of the market. Spacious and equipped with enough amenities to spend a couple of days to discover Antwerp. The sleeping room is quiet (when you close the windows) despite lying in the heart of the center and clubs/bars all around. Check-in and Checkout was easy, but there was no individual communication in the whole proces. Everything went automatized via WhatsApp.

The advertisement is - unfortunately - partly misleading and exaggerating. The apartment isn't as large as advertised (We didn't measure, but believe it's closer to 70/80m2 than 120m2), and definitely more run-down than shown on the pictures. The pictures were seriously touched up and e.g. show lamps were in reality there are none. As a previous review correctly stated, there were parts of the floor broken out, windows in a bad state and not possible or at least difficult to close completely, among more details, which do not fit the description of "luxurious". Also smoke detectors were missing (or probably taken away from the previous guests?!). The main letdown - for which the owner can't be held responsible though - still was that the apartment smelled from smoke (and puke in the toilet) from the previous guests when we arrived. It only got better after a few days with lots of ventilation. The kitchen could use some more equipment (bowls, small knive, a teapot) and some more light. A few extension-cords plus extra lamps would also be nice for the sleeping rooms, so that one can have a light next to the pillow. The beds were mostly good/okay, except for at least one mattress which was really bad. The stairs are dark and narrow and not for the fainthearted. Can't say anything about the free parking as we were arriving by train, but I believe that that's a false claim.
