About this apartment rental

ED Refnr. 3333106

La Casetta di Sara is a typical Procidan dwelling located in a green and quiet area, a short distance from the main harbour. It is a comfortable studio apartment, recently renovated, that preserves a unique architectural feature: the slightly lower ceiling compared to modern standards. This element is typical of the island's old buildings, designed to offer shelter from the summer heat and sea wind, providing cool, protected spaces. This peculiarity gives the house an intimate and cosy atmosphere, faithfully reflecting the traditional living style of Procida. The accommodation is perfect for a couple, a single traveller or those travelling with a pet. The spaces are well-kept and well-organised: the living/bedroom area has an equipped kitchen, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine and bathroom with shower. From the house there is direct access to the enclosed private garden, with a beautiful pomegranate tree that provides shade and colour. It is the ideal space to relax in nature, eat outdoors or let your pet play safely. Several transport options are available to comfortably reach Sara's cottage.

Procida is the smallest of the Phlegrean islands in the Gulf of Naples, easily reached by ferry from Naples or Pozzuoli. With only 4 km2 of surface area, it is a compact, quiet and authentic island, perfect for those who want nature, relaxation and culture. Elected Italian Capital of Culture 2022, Procida has been able to enhance its heritage while remaining true to its roots. Picturesque alleyways, courtyards full of hanging laundry, colourful harbours and timeless landscapes provide an intimate and evocative atmosphere. Among the places not to be missed are Terra Murata, a historic village that houses the Palazzo d'Avalos, now a former Bourbon prison that can be visited, and the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo, the Corricella belvedere, with its brightly coloured houses overlooking the sea, and Marina Grande, the heart of the island. Completing this scenery is Vivara, a small islet connected to Procida by a footbridge.
A protected natural oasis, Vivara is an integral reserve where nature grows unspoilt and can be visited at certain times of the year by guided tours. It is the ideal place for those who love walking in the green, observing the local fauna and enjoying breathtaking sea views.
The nearest bus stop is about 350 metres from the entrance to the alleyway leading to the house, making it easy to get around even without your own transport. At the port of Marina Grande you will find local buses with regular services
to the various parts of the island, traditional taxis and the characteristic microtaxis (Ape Cars), ideal for getting around the alleys and narrow streets. It is also possible to organise panoramic tours with stops at Procida's most suggestive places, to discover the island in comfort. Renting a car is not recommended: the roads are narrow and parking spaces are scarce. Procida can easily be visited on foot, or by hiring a scooter, an electric bike or a small open-top car.
car, available from agencies at the port. The island's main beaches, including Spiaggia del Pozzo Vecchio (also known as 'Postino beach'),
Ciraccio and Chiaia, are easily accessible and offer different contexts for relaxation, all of which are also accessible to those travelling with pets. Procida lends itself to year-round stays. In the spring and summer months, the island hosts numerous cultural and traditional events, including the Procession of the Mysteries during Holy Week and the Festa di Graziella in August. There are also music festivals, gastronomic festivals and open-air evenings.
