Explorers Retreat Private Sauna - Pet Friendly

Location is great - the cabin is at the end of a dead end road so no cars at all driving by, and is super close to a walking path that connects right to the main road and nothing in town is more than 10-15 minute walk away. The deck area is completely private - no one walking or driving by can be seen (great for us since our sometimes nervous dog was with us). The sauna was a wonderful bonus and didn't take too long to heat up. The kitchen had all the basics (and the knives were sharp!) and Netflix was included on the TV. They've also provided a few mini puzzles which was a nice touch. For us with our dog it was a great place to stay - the path made it easy to take him out for his nightly potty break and it was so quiet there was nothing to disturb him and we could leave him on his own with no worries.

My main suggestion would be to get some comfy deck chairs to lounge in - there were plenty of the Adirondack style chairs but nothing you could recline in or put your feet up on, and there is plenty of space to have more deck chairs. I also found the payment process frustrating. I was messaged the night before our stay saying they sent me a link to the invoice to pay but there was no invoice attached so I had to message back. They then sent a link to their payment website at 10:30pm saying if it didn't work I must call them before 9am the next morning or my reservation was not confirmed. I woke up the morning of our check in to see this message which caused some anxiety thinking our stay wasn't confirmed even though we'd booked weeks ago. That payment invoice could have been sent through weeks before to avoid the whole situation. If we'd been camping that night with no reception we wouldn't have even got any of those messages until the day of our arrival. Other little things - it says a hairdryer is provided but there wasn't one. The outdoor fireplace would probably be better off as propane so it would still be useable during a fire ban. It also seemed like there was the beginning of an ant problem but nothing a few traps wouldn't fix.
