Cozy 1BR King - Near City Airport

After 2 days in 2 other states in 2 hotels, it was nice to be in a home. This is a first floor unit of a 3 story home with a separate entrance at the back of the home. Our adult son was staying with us one night so it was nice to have a space for him to stay in the living room. There is a pizza place a short walk from the house, with great pizza and beer. They have daily specials and the pizza crust is so good - I love a good pizza crust! My husband and I didn't have a car the second day, so it was nice to have Walgreens, CVS and Dunkin Donuts just half a mile away. The home is in a nice neighborhood of large, old houses. You will love this place if you like old homes. The owners are very responsive. When I notified them that we didn't have enough towels, they had some brought by within a few hours. There is a nice large TV in the living room.

The bedroom is separate but there is no door. There is a closet, but no hangars. If you want to use the futon sofa in the living room, take care of the feet underneath as they are not all stable. You can hear every sound and step, and even loud conversations, from the upstairs tenants/renters. They were up walking around and moving things until after 3am so none of us got very good sleep. They were also smoking marijuana and the smell was very strong, like it was coming through the floor/ceiling. The thermostat is locked up. We didn't spend much time at the house and the weather was fair so we didn't think much of it, but on our last day the temperature was in the high 80's. When I checked the thermometer, it was set at 70, but on heat so it stayed off. If were were staying longer, I would have asked the owners to change the temperature and I'm sure they would have, but we were about the check out. There is no dishwasher or laundry either. Also, I don't know if it is because of the warm weather, but there were some BIG bugs. Not an infestation, but one here and there - huge ants, huge creepy crawly centipedes, huge beetles. I hate bugs and thank goodness my husband was there to take care of them! The house is about 20 min from downtown Pittsburgh and 30 min from the Pittsburgh Int'l Airport. This is neither good or bad, just information to help if you want to be closer to either.
