La Fontaine

On the way south, most people try to get there quickly. Perhaps they book accommodation near the motorway or popular tourist destinations. This time, I chose a place to stay that didn't fit that description, and I didn't regret it. Even the drive to Beaumont du Ventoux was relaxing. Empty but well-maintained roads, winding along vineyards with the mountains in the background – a beautiful scene. La Fontaine is located in Beaumont du Ventoux, on Rue de l'Eglise, and there was indeed a charming little square with a beautiful village church. A parking space directly opposite my accommodation – an added bonus. Francesca and Phillip are wonderful hosts. I received a warm welcome and was invited for an aperitif in the lovingly decorated courtyard. The room is charmingly furnished, and the shower and toilet are new and spotless. A small restaurant (a 3-minute walk) was a lovely and relaxing end to my day, complete with a spectacular sunset. This time I traveled alone and felt very comfortable and safe, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The next morning I had an incredible breakfast (5 Star) – delicious and far too much! And then I continued on my way to the market on Île de la Sorgue. The journey there was beautiful and relaxing once again. For those traveling south for hiking, cycling, or mountain biking, this place is highly recommended. It's not only very relaxing but also very close to Mont Ventoux, ideal for excursions there and in the surrounding Luberon region. I will definitely come back (next time with my husband).
