About this house rental
Welcome to Dom and Etienne's place: a 300-year-old farmhouse that's been fully restored / 4 bedrooms / sleeps 9+ / surrounded by nature / peaceful and authentic.
Just 30 minutes from 4 ski resorts: Ancelle, La Joue du Loup, Saint Léger les Mélèzes, and Laye.
20 minutes from the prestigious climbing cliffs of Céüse, we regularly welcome climbers from all over the world.
Large 3-star / 3-star character cottage, 140 m2. Large unique vaulted room with large 2-ton wood stove. Bar foosball table, 10-person wood-fired sauna with spring water.
Small hamlet, quiet and surrounded by nature, 7 minutes from Gap and all its amenities. Authenticity. 2 hectares with vegetable garden, orchard surrounded by fields and forest.

THE HOUSE
Interior:
Large vaulted living room measuring 65 m², a remarkable and unique room in the Hautes-Alpes thanks to its original early 18th-century aesthetic “decor” (high brick vault). Electric heating and a monumental 2-ton wood-burning stove made entirely of earthenware and over 150 years old, providing gentle heat.
Original kitchen with bar counter made from a 400-year-old solid oak trunk. Laundry area. 3 bathrooms with walk-in showers, one with a wall-mounted toilet and one family bathroom with changing table, baby bath, large shower, and toilet. Upstairs: relaxation area (table football, board games, toys, Lego, books, children's stories), 4 bedrooms (5 single beds and 2 bunk beds), 3 toilets and 5 sinks.
Maximum 1 pet allowed.
Towels are not provided, but can be supplied for €6 per person. Please let us know before your stay.
Our cottage can accommodate up to 9 people, but can accommodate more (up to 11). For more than 9 people, there is a charge of $18 per person per night + $7 for sheets. Babies aged 2 and under are not counted.
Outside:
Large outdoor area with landscaped grounds and beautiful trees for shade. Private cottage area of over 1,500 m² available, surrounded by fields and forests. Large garden table with chairs, gas plancha barbecue, deckchairs, etc. Swing, slide, playhouse, outdoor toys, and sandpit for children. Free parking with 5 spaces.
IMPORTANT: Wood heating (large traditional 2-ton wood stove) and electric heating. For rentals of more than 2 days, you will be charged extra (meter reading) for your electricity consumption (currently €0.27 per KWh) + wood consumption (€95 per cubic meter).
Relaxation area with Finnish bath (on request before your stay) and sauna:
- Sauna (8-10 people) all year round: alternating between “hot and cold” allows you to fully enjoy the positive and relaxing effects of the sauna. Price with a 25% discount for guests: €20 flat rate + €12 per person.
The owner is a mountain guide and, depending on his availability, can offer you a guided hike with or without snowshoes, or recommend walks and lend you IGN maps or suggest nice places to swim. Snowshoe rental on site, $10 per pair/day. Walks starting from the cottage are possible.
Other comments
During the summer school holidays, we prefer weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday, and a minimum of 3 nights in winter.
Things to do in the area: Etienne, the owner, is a mountain guide and can provide information on walks, swimming, mountain biking, etc.
- Summer: lots of entertainment in Gap (free concerts), guided tours of monuments and villages, open-air theater. Large farmers' market on Saturday mornings and Wednesday mornings, farmers' markets on Tuesdays in La Jarjayes and Wednesdays in Montmaur, village festivals: Tuesdays and Fridays in Rabou... Olympic-size outdoor swimming pool in Gap with two large slides, children's play area, swimming in the river or lake (Pellautier, 5 minutes away), unusual water walks, numerous hikes starting from the gîte or just a little further away (Ecrins National Park, Dévoluy, etc.), pony rides for children (5 minutes away), family canyoning (10 minutes)...
- Winter: wood-fired barrel sauna on site, numerous snowshoe hikes, ski touring or ski resort 25 minutes away: Ancelle (family resort), La Joue du Loup with over 100 km of slopes... Gap ice rink...
