St Mawes itself is a wonderful mix of history, coastal charm, and outdoor adventure. The harbour is the heart of the village, where you can catch the regular passenger ferry across to Falmouth. Spend the day exploring this vibrant town, home to independent shops, the National Maritime Museum, and a variety of great spots for lunch. From the quay, you can also book scenic boat trips along the estuary or hop off at Trelissick House and Gardens for a peaceful walk popular with birdwatchers and nature lovers.
The wider Roseland Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offers highlights like St Anthony, Head Lighthouse, the historic St Just in Roseland Church, and the subtropical gardens of Lamorran and Caerhays.
