Clean, spacious room for short stay;
A bit far from city center;
Only one staff on duty in the restaurant during breakfast time and kept running out of food before that staff member who worked really hard could replenish. I wont blame that staff at all, we appreciate his effort indeed. But I think the hotel need to arrange more manpower to help.
All in all, no complain for this price and will stay again next time when I visit Cambridge =)

• We stayed Friday afternoon to Monday morning
• First thing we found in our room when making a cup of tea was filthy cutlery - solid yoghurt fruit or similar stuck to a teaspoon. I handed it in to reception.
• Although staff were helpful, especially ***, 4G is so bad in the hotel that I was forced to purchase the Wi-Fi which didn’t work for about 75% of the time I had paid for it! The staff tried to be helpful, one of them calling *** who refunded me the first day’s fee but I had no choice but to try again and wasted the money on the second day. Other staff members simply offered me the *** number but I didn’t intend to spend my break waiting for them to answer! Total waste of money and I would have missed many important emails if I hadn’t left the hotel and found decent reception elsewhere. Wi-Fi is a modern world essential, not a luxury!!
• We were a long walk from reception and internal telephones have been removed from rooms so there is no contacting reception apart from stopping what you are doing and walking there. I had to do this four times.
• On our last evening, we went back early and ordered a drink each and a few hot snacks. Because the hotel was out of the vegetarian snack we wanted, the till ‘wouldn’t allow us’ to replace the missing item with chips. Our light snacks and drink therefore came to nearly £30, and the portions were extremely small, most items coming in teacup sized metal bowls. £4.20 for 11 chips seemed somewhat excessive!
• Turning up for our last breakfast, we were greeted with ‘It’s only open for another 5 minutes and I don’t think there’s much left’. If breakfast is open until 10am, it’s open until 10am, not 9:45! As it happens, there was plenty of food left, we both had a hearty breakfast and several more people came in after us, many of whom had been put out by the pessimistic attitude of the woman on the front desk.
• The location is not too close to central Cambridge but we knew this when we booked. However, the staff had no idea whether bus, taxi or driving and parking would be the most economically sensible option. We tried all three and the latter was by far the cheapest.
All in all I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend. If anything, I would appreciate being offered a tangible apology for the utterly useless Wi-Fi, the tiny portions, filthy cutlery and bad attitude on the final day! Thank you.
