Bed and Breakfast Il Cardellino

We had such a great stay at Bed and Breakfast Il Cardellino in San Carlo. The views over the valley and mountains were incredible — waking up to the snow-capped peaks and the quiet nature around us was really special. The place itself is beautiful, cosy, and full of charm. After hiking from Poschiavo, our host was so kind and even let us use the grill to cook a steak while we watched the sunset. It made the whole experience feel really personal and memorable. Breakfast the next morning was amazing — homemade yoghurt and jam, fresh eggs, toast, and everything made with so much care. What really makes Il Cardellino special is the atmosphere. Peaceful, welcoming, and authentic. Easily one of the highlights of our Bernina trip and somewhere we’d love to come back to.

We booked 2 minutes before getting there even still Romina was so kind and accommodating! The bed is comfortable and bathroom is super clean and organised. The room in general is super cosy and the view is lovely. We had breakfast of items we chose ourselves the night before (so many homemade and local items which was fantastic!) that was delivered in a basket, we ate on the balcony looking out at the mountains. All together we have no complaints and think it would be silly not to stay here if you are given the chance. Thank you Romia :D

The place is located in a very nice town. We arrived late at night, so we could not fully appreciate the beautiful scenic views until the next morning. The room is small but cozy, very clean, and well organized. We are really picky and do not usually leave reviews often, but this place truly deserves one. Romina is a lovely person. She stayed on the phone with me until late at night while we were arriving to make sure we found the place safely. She also prepared breakfast for us, and we really enjoyed it super healthy and delicious. The common areas of the house are clean and beautiful as well. You definitely will not go wrong staying here. Thank you, Romina! We hope to have the opportunity to come back to your place someday.
