Flat with free parking in Oxford

The upstairs flat is just minutes from regular buses into Oxford and east to Headington. It is also close to South Park and a lot of green space, as well as Cowley Rd with all its eclectic restaurants and shops. The bed is very comfortable, and the view out of the back is of the garden, frequented by a family of foxes.

Upon arrival, the heating was blasting and there was no way to turn it down. We turned it off - fortunately it wasn't needed and Tolu brought over a small heater. There was also no hot water our first week there and the outlet to the boiler was covered over with paper hiding exposed wiring. (The water heater was fixed our second week there, but not the heating). The bathroom is very small. The kitchen was equipped with cheap knives and useless gadgets so cooking has to be basic. There was no hand soap provided in the bathroom. Seat cushions would be useful at the table - very hard seats.

it’s a bit tired

The location was excellent. walking distance into the centre of town and it was great to have a car park available. It was a small apartment, but it had mostly everything we needed. Heating worked well. Very good communication with the owner, they were always very prompt at replying.

The bathroom could use a little updating. It was just starting to look a little worn out. Maybe a new floor mat and bathtub mat would be good as a start.

The property is in a very quiet location in a cup-de-sac and is an upstairs flat. It is minutes from the bus stop into Oxford and the Oxford Tube to London and Airliner to Heathrow passes nearby. There is a beautiful park 5 mins. walk away and a pub that serves food 15 mins. walk. The beds were comfortable and we were given extra linens and towels for our 2 week stay. There is a washing machine. The views were pleasant, being upstairs.

The boiler had broken so the host dropped off a small heater that was effective, but only in one room at a time. This made it hard to get our washing dry and the place felt damp. There were many minor issues, but most were taken care of quickly by the host. The kitchen is now better stocked, but cooking beyond the basics there would be difficult. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up and the fridge froze our vegetables, but overall the place is recommended and I'm sure the host has addressed the boiler issue now. He was very quick to respond to our requests and dropped off items during our stay.
