The breakfast was well thought out, very generous, and was very accommodating of my wife's dairy allergy. Honestly our own families don't always do that as well as the hosts did. The cabin was easy to find, quaint, comfortable and clean. Every thing we could possibly think of to make our stay easier or more enjoyable was provided, like the pairs of binoculars, or if we had needed, there were rain jackets and ponchos. It just seemed so thoughtful and intentional. We couldn't ask for more. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Steve, but Susan was so friendly and informative. Just a wonderful soul. We can't wait to come back with our little girls.

My poor planning didn't leave us enough time there

All I needed and more was provided like locally sourced bread and eggs as well as great coffee, fresh fruit, cheese and yoghurt and so much more like preserves, tea and a very well organized kitchen. The host greeted me personally and made suggestions what to see in Vancouver Island. The place is very personally decorated so that the host shares her eclectic taste and items collected over many years of travel with her guests. Not just put together for a B and B as many places are these days. The cottage from the 1970s has been wonderfully refurbished. The unit was private and yet the host lived just next door and was available.

Nothing really regarding the accommodation. Unfortunately, Gabriola has become too busy with lots of impatient and insensible drivers, heavy trucks, pickup tracks etc. but his has nothing to do with the accommodation itself. Waiting for almost 2 hours for the ferry crossing and the overwhelming and hectic traffic is a drawback for me to return to Gabriola.

It was warm and friendly, lots of thought has gone into its offerings.
