This apartment is in a perfect location for enjoying all Orleans has to offer! A quick walk over the bridge brings you directly into downtown and all its restaurants, shops, galleries, and other attractions. The building is large and was well spread-out for our group of five adults and one infant, with a rooftop deck, eat-in dining room, spacious first-floor shower room with laundry, and living room with couch and floor space. Very much appreciated the host accommodating our request for a baby crib, and for the responsiveness for other inquiries. We had a truly fantastic stay—Orleans was a real highlight of our vacation! One word of caution to potential guests (this is not the fault of the host, but worth noting!) is that the stairs are quite steep and have sharp turns, both the set going from the downstairs shower to the room with loft and from the main floor to the second floor in the front of the house. The steps themselves are solid, but a word of caution for walking around in socks, taking the steps too fast, or not being terribly sure-footed (we had a trip and fall on each staircase by different folks in our group during our stay, all of whom are very active/otherwise nimble folks!). It seems worth mentioning that the rental is likely not well-suited for those with balance issues, or those who might not be comfortable navigating steep, curving stairwells to get to a bathroom or up to bed at night. All in all a terrific visit in a very cool old home.

Our family (2 adults, 3 children age 14,12,4) really enjoyed this property - quirky and attractive layout and decoration, all the facilities we wanted, and perfect location to explore Orleans for a few days: close enough to explore the key sites easily but being just across the river also quiet for the family in the evening. Parking was easy to find along the road outside the property. The host was very helpful, communications were quick and effective.
