About this apartment rental
Experience Black Mountain from this beautiful location that is walking distance to downtown. We are just steps away from the vibrant Black Mountain Downtown Historic District, famous for its shops, restaurants, breweries and music venues. This charming one bedroom suite is on the main level of the building. The entire town of Black Mountain is walkable, making this the perfect home base for your mountain adventure! This house is over 100 years old and presents itself as such.
Black Mountain Lodge has five units, each with a separate entrance. The door for Unit 1 is in the center of the front porch. There are steps that lead up to the porch. Inside this 540 sq ft space you will find a beautiful suite consisting of a combined living and bedroom and featuring a dramatic stone fireplace with a gas heater on the hearth. The room is sunny and bright, and the hardwood floors add a warm feeling to the space. A new sofa was added December 2023. The full kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for preparing all your meals. There is also a smart tv you can use to log into your streaming subscriptions.
We welcome pets, and if you bring one please be considerate of other groups in the building. Please no dogs that bark if you are away. Dogs must be in a crate if left alone. Keep dogs on a leash at all times.
Please note that we do not have a front desk or concierge service. Staying with us will require some “self sufficiency”. You can self check in any time after 4pm and self check out any time before 10am on your day of departure. We are available during reasonable hours to address any questions or concerns, but please note that we are not a corporation and don’t have 24 hour staff. This is a very old house with gas furnaces for heat and window units for air conditioning. You may hear your neighbors. But we do ask that all guests be respectful of one another and that guests with pets, not bring barking dogs that will bother others in the house. Our address is visible for you to map prior to your booking so you can verify the location. Unfortunately we can’t offer luggage storage.

We were within walking distance of downtown and had some really great restaurants and shops close by.

This spacious studio apartment, with a glorious view of the mountains, presented a couple problems for me. There was everything I needed for my stay and more, but my aging knees were challenged by the stairs to the porch and the under-sized bathroom facility. The Roku tv had a great picture but some instructions would be welcome.
