This detached, Scandinavian holiday lodge is ideally situated for visiting both the tranquil coves and creeks of the south, and rugged surfing beaches of the north coast. This area was once part of the famous Godolphin Estate (owned by the National Trust and open to the public), and is perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday, yet within easy driving distance to the coast. Penzance, with its long promenade, outdoor lido, marina, shops and restaurants, is also nearby. The area is ideal for walking, bird watching, sailing and general water sports, fishing and golf. Shops and pubs 3 miles.

Our 2nd visit to Wheal Metal Lodge and we booked our 3rd whilst we were there. Wonderful base to return to after a day exploring and very cosy if the weather is a bit iffy. Comfort and cleanliness plus a very well stocked/maintained garden to relax in. Great location for exploring this end of Cornwall, nothing seems more than a 40 minute drive away and often much less. Friendly, helpful but not intrusive owners. The benchmark for how a good holiday cottage should be.

We had a fantastic weeks stay in this lovely lodge. The location is stunning so quiet and peaceful yet a short drive from all the resorts and supermarkets. The lodge is beautiful with lovely furnishings and everything you could want for a relaxing stay, set in its own private gardens and is spotlessly clean and really comfy beds. The owners are lovely and very helpful and the property is a credit to them. Would have no hesitation in highly recommending this lodge and we will certainly stay again.

A very private lodge in very pretty gardens and quiet location. Very well furnished and superb equipment. Owners very pleasant and helpful.
Would certainly recommend to anyone and hopefully we can visit again.
Just a couple of miles from Porthleven and beaches.
