Truly an unusually well-equipped kitchen that is perfect for those who enjoy making their own meals or have special dietary needs. If there’s something that we have not included in the guest house that you need please let us know and we will accommodate you the best we can; we might even have it from our kitchen.

We also have very impressive fully stocked barware if you are into enjoying cocktails, wine, champagne and beer. Beer mugs are in the freezer chilling and we also have 4 “round” craft cocktail ice trays in the freezer as well. Tammy tried to think of everything that our guests could possibly need in order to make the cocktails of their choice. Again, if there is something that isn’t in the barware please reach out for we just might have it at our house.

There is a dining room table for four and an outside patio table for four on the main lanai. Both tables have beautiful tablecloths and a tasteful candlelight centerpiece that is remote-operated.

We had a beautiful outdoor grilling gazebo built with an outdoor propane grill and grilling accessories. The views of Kealakekua Bay from the grill are breathtaking.

We have starfruit, soursop, papayas, mangoes, oranges, lemons, Kaffir limes, Tahitian limes, ruby red grapefruits, figs, and bananas.

Please note that smoking inside the house is strictly prohibited. We are a medical marijuana friendly property. You must enjoy your medicine outside. Hawaii is not retail so you must have a valid “Hawaii 329A” medical card. You must obtain your legal license prior to your arrival.
** All guests must be over the age of 18 and we do reserve the right to verify all ages of guests with a proper and valid identification.
Please Read: Animals and Insects
We have an outdoor cat, Mittens. No animals are ever allowed inside the guest house and it is allergen free. But Mittens will come over and say hi outside during your visit. Also, we have three miniature horses in a fenced pasture several hundred feet down the hill from the guest house. If exposure to these animals is not to your liking, please do not book this guest house.

Also, Hawaii is a tropical climate, and this guest house is at ground level in a natural setting surrounded by fields and woods. Animals and insects abound in this ecosystem year-round. At this guest house you will encounter animals and insects. There will be singing birds, mongoose, gecko lizards, and insects around the exterior of the house. You may even find a gecko lizard or insects inside the house during your stay. We as hosts do all we can to minimize geckos and insects in the interior, including maintaining all screens and weather stripping on the doors and using a monthly pest control service. Nevertheless, it is possible that a gecko lizard will dart in an open door. While geckos are harmless, they may be difficult or impossible to catch once in the house. It is also likely that you will find some insects inside the house during your stay. The most common type to get in are millipedes, which are black or red in color and 1" long. They can get through the smallest cracks around the bottom of the sliding screen doors. They do not bite and will not hurt you but are a nuisance on the floor. They are slow moving and easy to sweep up and remove.

Please consider this ecological setting before booking. Because this natural ecosystem is part of the setting for this guest house, and we want to be clear about this before you book, no refunds or cancellations will be given for animals and insects.

Please note: Hawaii State and County transient accommodation taxes and general excise sales taxes are added by VRBO when you book. Taxes are subject to change without notice.

Please note: long-term stay cleaning service. If staying for 3 weeks or longer, an additional cleaning service is required during your stay at a rate of $52 per hour. The cleaning time may be one that is mutually acceptable, and you will need to reimburse the hosts directly for this service by cash or check.

We loved it. The house is very comfortable with beautiful art and a super well equipped kitchen. Great communication by the hosts for all aspects of the renting process. You are close to snorkeling spots and beaches – the house provides all you need: chairs, a cooler and snorkel gear. We found most beaches had shade but umbrellas are there if you need them. Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park is close as well if you want to learn about ancient Hawaiian culture (and you do) We ate many mangos from the fruit orchard and one night heard wild pigs rooting eating dropped fruit. Plus birds and a beautiful view in the morning outside on the lanai.Next time we come we will book a longer stay!
