House located on Gruene road within walking distance to the historic Gruene Hall and the surrounding stores. Perfect for a weekend get away with room to accommodate 12 with parking for 5 cars! There is also a walkway down to the breathtaking Guadalupe river with a picnic table to enjoy what the river has to offer! Across the street from The Villa in Gruene and Infernos Pizza. Plenty of activities within walking distance so you can leave the car behind and enjoy all the area has to offer including bars, live music, tubing, rafting, shopping and more! The bottom room is owner storage and is not included in the rental..

Our family of 10 had a great time at the Windmill Springs house in Gruene. The location is ideal!A quick walk to the shops and restaurants of Gruene.As well, a nice nature walk to the river front with perfect depth for river chair chilling. The best of both - Calm rapids flowing into calm water.The home owner was excellent at answering my list of questions before and during our trip.The outdoor decks are great for relaxing at the end of the evening.We will return

So much space and great location. Everything was clean. Perfect for family.

Overall appearance was clean. However, noticeable cob webs in the skylight and ceiling fans, as well as thick dust on window blinds and A/C intake vents. Also, the deck has loose/broken boards with exposed nails and/or screws, which was concerning with little ones around. The second floor patio sliding glass door does not lock. As noted in the comments, the path down to the river is a difficult hike up and down, but doable. Not good for elderly or young kids. Kitchen could also be better furnished. All easy fixes that should be taken care of.
Nice to have an industrial ice maker available, and the beds were comfortable.
