About this castle / palace rental
The East Wing of Lickleyhead Castle is a luxury exclusive use accommodation venue. The castle is a Grade A listed historic building from the 16th century. The East Wing can accommodate 4 adults in comfort with the option of adding up to 2 small children. Outside, the sound of running water and abundant birdlife combine to provide an atmosphere of peace, calm and tranquility.
The space
Each of the bedrooms have been styled to reflect the period of former owners of note. This includes our 'Bartholf' medieval styled room. The castle grounds which are exciting to explore, extend to 11 acres, with 2 burns (streams), rope swings to discover, not to mention a ruined archway and a bird hide. We are also situated on the lower slopes of Bennachie which of course means plenty of wonderful walks from the doorstep.
Please note: The east wing does not have a games room. For some reason this information is stuck on the listing despite having been deleted some time ago.

Staying at Lickeyhead Castle in Insch, UK, was a magical experience. The castle has been restored, offering a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The surroundings are peaceful, making it an ideal getaway. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring a relaxing stay. It's a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the unique atmosphere of a Scottish castle!

We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and opportunity to stay in a castle in Scotland. The grounds were lovely with the burns flowing by. There were 3 of us and we enjoyed the wing of the castle with the two period bedrooms (the two story newer section of the castle),

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A quirky and pleasurable castle experience. They had laid the dining table for us on arrival so instead of eating out every night we stayed in one evening and had a fun dinner in the wood panelled dining room.
