The trip was a great success. It was just what I was looking for: gorgeous countryside, relaxation and a lovely little home and garden to enjoy.
Ussel is a 20 minute drive away and has all,the shops that you would ever need. There is also a smaller spar shop 5 minutes away by car which is also very handy.
There are marked local walks which I thoroughly enjoyed (in Sornac, St Germain Lavolps and in Bellechassagne). I also made good use of the barbecue in the evening and of course made the most of French bread each day with cheese and wine,

The stay in Bellechassagne was great. The little house has everything, was very clean, and is located in a very quiet setting. The pictures of the house do not fully show how great the place is. Irene and her husband were great hosts and took very good care of us. I highly recommend this place to any person, couple or small family enjoying countryside live, hiking and cycling
