About this house rental
The Cocoonr/Book&Pay agency offers you to rent in the commune of Ver-sur-Mer, located in the heart of the D-Day landing beaches at Gold Beach, with sea views, less than one kilometer from the beach, with jacuzzi, 240 m² in size and able to accommodate up to 15 guests. It has a lovely 45 m² living room (with fireplace), a fully-equipped kitchen, seven bedrooms, three bathrooms (with shower and bath) and a garden of around 400 m². Bed linen and towels included, we're waiting for you!
The accommodation comprises
Ground floor :
- A 45 m² living room with TV, fireplace (wood not provided), sitting area and dining area.
- A fully-equipped kitchen with electric kettle, oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, hob, etc.
- Bedroom 1: One queen-size bed with en-suite bathroom (with bath)
First floor:
- Bedroom 2: One queen-size bed
- Bedroom 3: One queen-size bed
- Bedroom 4: One queen-size bed
- Bedroom 5: One double bed
- Bedroom 6: Four single beds
- One bathroom (with bath)
- Shower room and adjoining WC
- Separate WC
On the second floor:
- Bedroom 7: Two single beds
- Games room with pool table and table football
Outside:
- A 6-seater jacuzzi available all year round (please do not leave children unsupervised).
- A lovely enclosed south-facing garden of around 400 m².
- A terrace with furniture to enjoy the fine weather
The house is ideally located in Ver-sur-Mer, in a very pleasant environment. All the essential shops, boutiques, restaurants, bars and markets are close by.
Activities :
- Numerous D-Day museums all along the coast:
- Courseulles sur Mer and its Canadian Museum. Juno Beach, 3.7 km
- Radar Museum in Douvres la Délivrande
- Musée d'Arromanches, on the logistics of the D-Day Landings, recently completely revamped 8 km
- Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery 30 KM
- Numerous small independent museums.
- Mont Saint Michel 1 1/2 hours away
- Bayeux and its Cathedral, Tapestry and narrow streets of private hotels 20 km
- Honfleur, its little port and its picture galleries
- Numerous restaurants serving local fish and seafood throughout the region
Transport :
If you choose to come by car, you can park directly in the house's private outdoor car park (3 vehicles).
As for other modes of transport, here is some information that may be useful to you:
- Nearest train station: Caen station (30 km)
- Nearest airport: Caen airport (28 km)

A group of 8 Americans traveling to Normandy to explore, practice speaking French and enrich ourselves in the history of WW2.
The house was beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed cooking meals together. We took several day trips, including Honfleur, Mont Saint-Michel and a tour of D-Day beaches and WW2 cemeteries, et al. The view from the house was gorgeous and the sounds of the water were hypnotizing.
We did have concerns with communication before we arrived. I had difficulty with someone responding to me from this location via VRBO, even after I booked. Email was better but not prompt.
Upon checkin we were advised that 1 of the 2 hot water heaters was broken. Water leaked all over the laundry room the entirety of our stay. I would need to mop it up several times a day. Water remained pooled in the floor for 7 days.
At the end of our stay, appliances, blinds, outlets and a toilet were not working. I communicated this to the the owners. It appeared to me there was a connection to the hot water heater. The response I received insinuated my group and I did something in the house to trigger the electrical problem.
Upon checkout, the house keeper and her husband came by to collect the keys and inspect the house. Her husband was able to fix the electrical problem. They were kind and reassuring.
We enjoyed the house while it was working. We were disappointed by the communication and appliance malfunctions and lack of consideration from the owners.

Villa de la plage 🙂 Excellent location right by the sea, in a very quiet area and within a short distance to the main sights. Comfortable, well-equipped house, tastefully decorated. Lovely bright sitting room, jacuzzi was a nice bonus. Overall, we would highly recommend this property!
