This spacious, 5-bedroom lodge is the perfect place for you to unwind as you breathe fresh mountain air and reconnect with nature. Get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine on beautiful Palomar Mountain, while still enjoying all the modern amenities and comforts of home. Sip your morning coffee or tea from the comfy patio furniture on our expansive deck while you enjoy the expansive views all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Our Lodge is kid friendly, so it is perfect for families to come and spend quality time together. Our guests enjoy playing games, reading books, bird-watching, stargazing, cycling, family dinners, and taking hikes. Kids will enjoy the swing set, snow play, sledding, books and games just for them, and wildlife sightings while getting to explore and play on the 17+ private acres. You can even see deer outside of your bedroom window! Enjoy nature and your loved ones without the stresses of modern life.

The lodge is all yours, so enjoy a relaxing stroll as you explore the 17+ private acres of tranquil meadows and woodlands surrounding Upper Meadow Lodge.
We will approve requests for small private events on a case by case basis. Please contact us directly to inquire.
We (the hosts) may occasionally be in a different cabin at the back of the property on some weekends, but guests of the lodge will not see us unless they want to.
Beautiful, quiet area at the top of Palomar Mountain. The property boasts 17.7 private acres of fern meadow and forest, including a cedar grove with trees over 350 years old. Palomar Mountain State park is only two and a half miles down the road, and the general store is a great stop for some snacks or forgotten items.
Plenty of parking on the property, but you`ll need your own vehicle to get around on Palomar.
You can find miles of inspiring hiking trails within driving distance at breathtaking Palomar State Park. Water activities such as fishing or boating are also available at nearby Lake Henshaw and Doane Pond. Stargazers love to come to Palomar Mountain as it is known for being one of the most phenomenal places to see stars…There is even a famous Observatory within driving distance!

everything about this property exceeded expectations. it was the perfect place for our family gathering. we would 100% return! andrew and april are the best hosts! they made sure that everything was perfect. they have a lot of amenities that they offer to make the stay awesome!

This well-equipped lodge is on top of Palomar Mountain. Well kept, plenty of space for a group of people and located in a gorgeous landscape with a beautiful outside sitting area and a beautiful patio with a view of the valley. Definitely recommended!

What a great place to spend a family holiday! The house is amazing and the property is special. The kids hunting eggs/Snowball fights/sledding/hiking and hot tub were our favorite activities.
A special Thank you to Andrew(Host) who helped us get up the driveway. He called a neighbor(Randy) who had a tractor with a plow and he cleared the way.

Our New Year celebration at this house was nothing but wonderful! The host was great at communicating about check-in and check-out process and responded promptly when we had some questions. He was kind to allow us an early check- in and check- out which we were very grateful for. The house itself is very cozy and beautiful, and it has everything we needed starting from tons of kitchen utensils and tools, fun games and books for adults and kids, great bed sheets and very comfortable mattresses and pillows. Everyone also loved the jacuzzi and our entire group is hoping to come back for a summer stay to enjoy hikes in a nearby forest! Thank you for a great start of the new year!
