Zavala is a small village on the sunniest side of Hvar with a small harbour, a few restaurants, bakery and a small market. Be sure to visit Hvar OldTown, a proof of Hvar’s rich cultural history with 13th century walls and a hilltop fortress. The main square houses an impressive Renaissance Cathedral which can be admired from one of many cafés serving authentic, unpretentious yet true Dalmatian delicacy most likely incorporating in someway local olives and delicious regional wine. And even though Hvar has been on the tourist radar for quite some time attracting A-Listers from around the world it continues to be an example of undisturbed landscape and us living in harmony with nature.
For transparency: please account for 500 euro security deposit to be paid upon arrival directly to the host and returned upon departure, subject to inspection. Pool heating is available for 25 euro per night. Please inquire about pets. Please no groups of under 25 years old.

Villa Lapis is a beautiful conversion of three stone buildings with lots of fabulous outside space that works perfectly for families or large groups. It exceeded our expectations! The views are spectacular and the location extremely peaceful and we would all happily return. We particularly loved the large outside dining area, drinks on the roof terrace soaking up the views, relaxing in the hammock and the size of the well equipped kitchen and indoor dining area. This side of Hvar is very steep and the house is located up a steep driveway - a little daunting on the first attempt but we quickly got used to it! Definitely recommend having a car.

Lovely place to stay - great space, loads of areas to hang out, amazing sea views, very good sized rooms overall. Definitely recommend the house.

A very beautiful house, in a lovely quiet and restful location. The walk to the beach is a 6 min walk, down a very straight, and very steep hill. But the 3 little beaches were lovely, with crystal clear water and very few people, even in July. We were all in a large people carrier, so the journey to Zavala is not for the faint hearted! little twisty roads and a very steep driveway made it a bit of a challenge, but if you want quiet and a bit of a hidden gem, then it’s worth it. Would definitely come back.
