Surrounded by secular olive groves and corn fields, La Masseria is situated in Contrada San Leonardo in Vasto.
It is surrounded by a unique landscape, located in the immidiate neighbourhood of the mountains of Abruzzo and the most famouse seaside resorts. The skyblue colour, recreating the original colour of the eighteenth-century, found on an ancient brick recovered during the excavations, will delight the scenery suiting perfectly the shades of the sky and yellow corn fields.
The duplex La Scalinata is a residence located on the first floor of the building.
Crossing the garden shared with the adjacent apartments, you find yourself in front of an external staircase that leads to the first floor of the structure on an exclusive equipped loggia.
The apartment is on two levels; entering the house we find ourselves in the kitchen, close to it a king size bedroom and a bathroom. On the upper floor accessible via an internal staircase, there are two king size bedrooms, one of which is an open space.

La Massaria is a beautiful place, but we had a few issues suggesting the place is a bit 'style over substance'. The apartment is advertised as 'air con' (important with two kids and 35C heat), but there is only one air con unit in one of the 3 bedrooms only. We had to ask for additional fans.
The place advertises itself as a tranquil 'oasis'. Unfortunately, the walls between the two bedrooms upstairs where our kids slept and the unit next door are very thin and the bedroom downstairs where we sleep is underneath a room in the apartment next door and seperated only by a wooden ceiling/floor. As a result, there was a lot of noise from the next door apartment at night. Tranquil it was not.
Basic kitchen items were not present (like bowels, a chopping knife or a wooden spoon). When we asked, the host provided these.
There was no communication from the host about what to do when we arrived or what to do when leaving.
In addition, there is a washing machine, but it is shared and was not working and the wifi was intermittent.
For the money we paid, I expected better attention to basic details.
