About this cottage rental
Experience privacy and amenities at Comfort Acres , a totally renovated 3 bedroom 3 bath 1950's ranch house overlooking the Guadalupe River on 9.5 acres with over 1200 LF of river frontage to roam, fish, kayak, swim, tube or just relax and enjoy the breeze. Minutes from the antique town of Comfort, we are nestled just off the highway in a quite setting full of shady pecan and oak trees. The property has an old barn that has been converted into a small party barn for entertaining. If you like to sit on a porch, gaze at the stars or watch the whitetail and axis deer graze, we have over 1000 SF of deck and porch area to enjoy!
Our large master has a king size bed, sitting area and private master bath. While our second bedroom has a queen size bed and its own private bath. The loft bedroom has two twin beds plus a children’s playroom with a built in twin bed as part of the reading nook area. This would be ideal for kids and useable for adults with the third bathroom located downstairs. Our laundry room has full size washer and dryer set. The kitchen is equipped with all new appliances, utensils, cookware and dishes for your dining enjoyment. Our open room concept allows plenty of space to gather in the dining and family room. Four swivel recliners to relax and watch TV or read a good book while enjoying the view of the river through the two oversized sliding doors. We have music room that features an 1860's square grand George Steck piano, a very rare instrument that was brought to Texas by oxen!
Our location allows easy access to the Hill Country’s shopping, dining, vineyards and special events. We are only 5 miles from downtown Comfort where there are lots of great shops to browse and you must stop at High’s Café on Main. Just down the highway you will find Singing Waters Vineyard and Bending Branch Vineyard with tasting rooms and entertainment. Only 15 minutes away you can visit the unique historic Camp Verde Store and grab some lunch at their restaurant. It’s 20 minutes to Fredericksburg, 15 minutes to Kerrville and 30 minutes to Boerne. If you want to get in some big city shopping and entertainment we are only 45 minutes to the Rim Shopping center, LaCantera Mall and Six Flags over Texas!

The property and property owners were absolutely AMAZING! We planned on staying a couple of weeks and ended up staying 2 months! The experience was excellent and the facility is all that anyone could ask for! The rehouse and river are a delight! A BIG THANK YOU to the Hegeners, for their generosity and understanding!

Absolutely stunning place! My college kids and their friends enjoyed having the red barn to hang out in (separate from parents). Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.

The comfort, decor, space, beauty, location and size of this home is the absolute best. We have a large family and love to cook and enjoy nature and this place is the perfect place to do all of that and more. We cannot recommend this home enough. Stan was attentive and generous and truly cared about our safety and time. We were there at a very sad time and our hearts will always be with those who were lost.
