Family friendly and luxurious holiday home in Normandy, near Mont Saint-Michel
Close to Mont Saint-Michel is the child-friendly holiday home La Minoterie. A recently restored watermill from 1870. The detached holiday home is situated in a wooded, green valley on a generous plot of land - 10,000 m2 - through which a clattering stream flows.
Ideal for children!
Playing outside, playing in the water, trampoline jumping or playing football on the large lawn. Also watching sheep, trout fishing along the flowing brook and gathering wood for a campfire are fantastic adventures. In the basement a table football, shuffleboard and a dart board for children and parents is ready.

Layout
The 5 floors of La Minoterie are each more than 110 m2. On the large terrace with barbecue at the entrance you can all have a nice meal and long wet food.
Ground floor apartment (0) - 4 sleeping places
On the ground floor, behind the spacious hall is a beautiful apartment furnished for 4 to 6 people. The modern cozy living room with two large sofas stands around the wood-burning fireplace. There is also a satellite TV. The spacious open kitchen is fully equipped. The gas stove has an oven, a large freestanding fridge with freezer drawers, a dishwasher, microwave and sufficient utensils. Here you can cook deliciously and then dine on the long sturdy tree table. The apartment has 2 bedrooms with double beds and a separate pleasant bathroom with shower. This floor has no stairs.
Top Floor and Vide (+1) - 8 sleeping places
This atmospheric floor with its old beam part is spacious and light. You can easily be together with 18 people in the living room. The spacious seating area has modern luxury seating around the wood-burning fireplace. There is a satellite TV, a wonderful lounge area and a cozy seating, reading or games corner. The spacious open kitchen is fully equipped. The large gas stove has an oven. There is a high standing fridge with freezer drawers, a dishwasher, microwave and sufficient kitchen utensils. Here you can all dine al fresco at the old tree tables and enjoy a good glass of wine. On this floor there is also a bedroom with a double bed and a spacious bathroom with a bath and toilet. With a staircase you reach the light loft. Here are 2 sleeping areas with 2 single beds and 4 double beds. For example in the ridge, under the old beams it is wonderful to sleep.
Mino floor (-1) - 8 sleeping places
The stairs to the mino floor is on the ground floor in the hall. On this floor are 4 beautiful spacious bedrooms each with its own comfortable bathroom. Of these 3 bedrooms have a double bed with a bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. The other bedroom has 2 single beds and a bathroom with toilet and sink.
Cellar (-2)
In the basement there is a table football, dart board and a shuffleboard for the children.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

Our family of 17 people across three generations descended on the property for the first week of July 2025. The space suited us perfectly. There are enough washrooms to keep everybody happy. All in beautiful shape and clean. Comfortable beds. Lots of play space for the kids - inside and out. We had the use of two kitchens and dining areas. Very handy for our dinners.Great location for access to St-Malo, Cancale, Fougeres, Mont-St-Michel. Bayeux and the Normandy beaches are about an hour away. And the property location provides privacy. But note, the property is in a valley which means you can’t easily walk or bike into St James for your morning pastries. Less than a 5-minute drive though.

We are a 4 generation family that stayed 5 days and had the most wonderful time. The house comfortably accommodated 14 of us ranging in age from 2 - 79 years. The views are amazing and there is a large yard with a trampoline and swing set that entertained our younger ones for many hours. The 2 kitchens are well equipped and it is a nice walk to the lovely village. I highly recommend this rental.

We had a wonderful time. The house was nicer than expected. The furnishings are much better than most vacation rentals. Outside its beautiful, peaceful and fun. Our familyreally enjoyed it.
