About this house rental
Unlike many other 'log cabin' self-catering holiday homes, ours is not one of a number where you can be victim to noisy neighbours; it sits on its own over 150 meters from the farm yard. Visitors have already told us that what they've enjoyed most is the peace and tranquility that it offers after a busy day doing holiday things.
Our visitors have told us that they've enjoyed the very comfortable beds: a king-sized double bed in one room and twin beds in the other. All bed linen and towels are provided and heating and hot water is included.
Sit out on the decking area and relax but be careful before you venture out early in the morning because we often have deer, brown hares and other wildlife coming down to graze and they're easily frightened - there's a pair of binoculars you can use if you enjoy wildlife watching.
You'll need a car to move to and fro at Belstane Log Cabin but just three miles away there's a train station where the trains to Edinburgh and Glasgow run approximately every hour and from Balerno there's a bus service into Edinburgh every fifteen minutes or so. Parking is easy to find for both services.
West Lothian is stacked with things to do from country walks, to golf, fishing and for the kids there’s plenty to do: swimming pools, the ‘Jump Station’ trampoline event, our very own local, and award winning Five Sister Zoo and many more. If you’re a TV watcher of epic dramas then West Lothian, which is liberally peppered with castles is where several of them, like Outlander are filmed.
And of course, there’s a host of historic sites within easy reach to visit from Linlithgow Palace to the world famous Roslin Chapel which dates back almost a thousand years to the Knights Templarand where scenes from The Da Vinci Code were filmed.
