About this villa rental
La Stazione is really an old railway station, built in 1924, housing since 1944, continually renovated. Located on the outskirts of the village of Colle di Compito on the road between Lucca and Pontedera. Distance to Lucca 15 minutes, about 50 to Florence, Pisa (airport) 40, to the sea about 20th Spacious (320 sqm), high ceilings, garden (3000 sqm) with large swimming pool, terrace, herbs and many fruit trees. Table tennis! Weber grills. Knowledgeable contact person on site who can tailor your stay in Tuscany as desired.
The house contains five bedrooms, three bathrooms, living room, dining room / lounge, large country kitchen, and storage / laundry room with washer and dryer. Since it is an old train station, it is very airy and high ceilings.

In the other direction (see map or Google Earth) is a small lake, ideal for walking or jogging. In the neighboring village Santandrea play tennis and retrieves its crystal clear spring water in the taps located just off the road.

We loved everything about our stay. Great location for visiting Lucca. Pool, ping pong table and cable ready TV gave the kids plenty to do when we weren't exploring. Conad market, local bakery, pizza place, garden restaurant were really all we needed for our stay.

Very charming house.
Location good to explore around.
Facilities good and a lot of utensils in the kitchen.
We asked for a home made dinner at home and it was amazing.
Improvements: Swimming pool doesn't have fence so kids cannot run around unsupervised.
Dogs are a nightmare next door barking through the night.
Gardener trying to come twice and the last day, he started to do the garden before we left the house so we could not leave kids running around or use the swimming pool.

After touring through Milan and Venice, arriving to the quiet and calm of this villa was the perfect pause in our whirlwind holiday. We were travelling in late August; it was HOT and the pool was a godsend - all 7 of us were in it everyday, several times a day! The kitchen was well appointed and easy to use (appliances). We enjoyed many meals on the outside garden patio and snacks by the pool. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and while there was no air conditioning in the home, if you diligently kept the doors and windows closed during the heat of the day, it was managable. There was ample space for our 2 families to both be together and have separate time if desired. Our hosts were very responsive; both the Owner with the booking process and the property manager who checked us in and helped us out as needed during our stay. This place was a great value for all that could be enjoyed and I would highly recommend making this part of your Italian experience :)
