Located just minutes away from the charming town of Banner Elk, there is easy access to fine restaurants, a quaint downtown filled with local shops, and necessities such as grocery stores and gas stations. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is 7 minutes away and a year-round source of adventure. In the winter, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and ice skating are favorites. During the summer months, you can ride the chairlift to access fantastic mountain biking and hiking trails for all experience levels. Banner Elk Winery and Villa is another exciting attraction, with award-winning wines and a laid-back atmosphere to enjoy with your family and four-legged friends. The home has four (4) luxurious bedroom suites with private, full bathrooms. The master king bedroom has a flat-screen TV, access to the deck, and a striking tongue-and-groove ceiling. The master bathroom, equipped with a jetted tub overlooking the wooded outdoor surroundings, has a tiled, walk-in shower, a flat-screen TV, and double vanities with granite countertops. The second king bedroom has a flat-screen TV, a love seat for additional seating, and the ensuite bathroom has a tiled combination tub and shower. This is a wonderful property. The views are amazing! We were there in a cold month, and look forward to coming back in warmer weather to utilized the great outdoor decks. There were four couples and everyone got a king or queen sized bed. We loved that it was one floor. A great vacation spot! Close to lots of things to do. Having said that, we didn't leave the house for the first day and a half! We just enjoyed the space. We would definitely recommend this space to anyone looking for a getaway.

My family loved this house. It has a great view of Grandfather Mountain. It's beautifully decorated and has large deck for family gatherings.

Overall, the property was grand with great views of the mountains. There were some problems though. The house was without heat for 5 days (compensation, floor heaters and wood were provided). The house needed cleaning especially vacuuming and dusting. We saw a note we assumed from the cleaning team reminding us to leave a tip at the end of our stay. This we felt was in bad taste. Fireplaces should have been cleaned of previous wood burns. I did not appreciate no access to the gate at route 184 for entering and leaving the property. This was very inconvenient. Upon arriving to the property, the access code did not work. The front and back of the house was not shoveled and salted for ice. We spent our first 3 hours shoveling and spreading salt. The hot tub was wonderful but did not use it until heat was restored to the house. It appeared as both fireplaces were installed with gas starters, but we could not locate the key to turn gas on and off. There were also burned-out light bulbs in need of repair. In the end, we had a nice time, but it could have been so much better with more attention spent on the details.
