The apartment was clean and very spacious. The balcony was also very large. There are 2 washrooms and 2 bedrooms and a pull-out sofa bed in the living room. The TV had lots of channels to choose from.
We had asked to check in at noon instead of 3 pm. He asked for 30 euros extra. We ended up arriving at 3 pm. We had called at 11 am stating that our luggage was not arriving off the plane. We kept him updated with our timing. When we arrived he still insisted on the 30 euros even though we arrived at the regular check-in time of 3 pm.
Then, the owner unexpectedly asked for a cleaning fee that was never listed on booking.com. He kept insisting it was required, showing us pictures of a fee, but it was not part of our booking details. He also charged 2 euros per person, per night for the tourist tax, but we later found out the actual rate should have been 1.50 euros. With four people staying for two weeks, that added up.
The air conditioning was another issue. It seemed to be controlled through the owners’ WiFi. Even though we set it at 23, it never went below 26. The owner claimed not to know why, but we could clearly see the AC was linked to a WiFi.
The stove barely worked, so we couldn’t cook a proper meal for four people. Even boiling water was difficult. When we mentioned this, the owner just shrugged it off, though he did buy two lids for the pots. The kitchen itself was very poorly equipped with the bare minimum of pots.
The other couple we were travelling with had the second bedroom and complained that the single beds were as hard as a rock. They ended up sleeping on the pull-out sofa in the living room. I tried the beds myself, and honestly, the floor would have been more comfortable.
There were no toiletries provided at all—not even hand soap. Only a couple of rolls of toilet paper were left, and there wasn’t even a cloth to wipe down the kitchen counters.
The chairs that were provided on the balcony were old and 2 were already broken and when my husband sat on them, they collapsed. We noticed that the screws were missing. Then he brought us 2 old plastic chairs and again, 1 broke. My husband is only 80 kg.
Such a pity.

We enjoyed the large space for being very clean and appearing newly decorated. It was equipped with modern furniture and well functioning split type a/c units in each room and everything else according to the description. The apartment was outstandingly clean, there is a supermarket just next door and the La Pigna as well as Sanremo’s main shopping area reachable within a few minutes of walking distance.
If we have a chance to revisit Sanremo, we’d be happy to stay at this apartment again.
