I’ve never stayed at a hotel without staff before, and according to Google’s AI, a hotel has to have a lobby or a staffed reception.
Had I known this wasn’t a hotel, I would have stayed at the ***. I had received no checkin information prior to arrival (they rely solely on sending a text - not an email, or message via Agoda or the website where you booked) and it was stressful just trying to get into the building after a long journey. Not what I wanted before a big event I was in town for.
When I arrived back in the early hours after said event, I couldn’t get into the building as the code I had didn’t work. I had to call the phone number to wake up a grumpy-sounding guy, who told me to go round the back of the building - where the code worked. How should I know, the front door wouldn’t work?
I emailed them three times during my stay and had no reply to any of the questions I asked.
This is more like a serviced apartment than a hotel. I don’t think you can even call it a hotel without there being on site reception. I would sooner pay £10 extra to stay somewhere with staff onsite, as it was a stressful experience overall and a hotel needs some human interaction. Relying on texts is just lazy.
