Quirky house, fabulous location!
Well designed and great decor full of charm.
Outdoor terrace is the perfect sun trap and looks beautiful lit up at night.
Hairdryers were a welcome surprise in the rooms.
The different levels made it a really different, fun experience.
The living space downstairs stayed lovely and cool in the heatwave!
Great communication from host which definitely made life easier.
Outdoor terrace needs a little extra attention as it is a lovely space to use.
In the photos the terrace looks well kempt and very clean. It seemed to not have been swept or wiped down. There were also not enough cushions for the rattan furniture.
We enjoyed it anyway and wouldn't let this put us off coming again. A little tlc and it will be back to how I imagine it was originally.
The feel of the property is lovely, few small changes would make it perfect.
Our booking was last minute which could be why it didn't seem finished. The kitchen floor felt like it needed cleaning. There was a mop but no bucket so I couldn't do this myself.
Overall we had a lovely stay and loved the quirks of the property.

The decor was superb, and suited the quirkiness of the property perfectly. Even the smallest of details had been considered, down to the lovely touch of family games hidden in the cupboards. The bed was one of the comfiest I had ever slept in, which appeared to be the same for all the rooms, as everyone agreed how comfy a night's sleep they'd had.
The location was ideal. Around a 5 - 10 minute walk to the centre of York itself, which meant everything was within walking distance, but it was nice and peaceful at the property itself. Ideal for relaxing with a good book. My daughter brought her Switch along and the 'kids' (fully grown adults) managed to get it set up on the large TV.
The purpose of me booking this property was to get my grown up family together for some quality time, with us being spread out all over tge country now, with my middle child living in York. She only lives 2 minutes away from the property, but chose to stay with us at the Coach House, too. Which I think sums it up perfectly. Such a lovely place. I'll be coming back to stay again if I get the chance.
Two keys instead of one may have been nice, to allow a bit more flexibility.
